Mrs. Gameiro is also an active collaborative artist performing worldwide in Portugal and in her native Nicaragua. She is also an active church musician accompanying the choir and playing on an organ at St. Elisabeth's and Christ the King Episcopal Church. Mrs. Gameiro is available to play for weddings, funerals and private parties as well.
Mrs. Gameiro caters each piano lesson to each student's individual needs. Beginners are taught to read sheet music as they learn how to play the piano. Piano students are also taught music theory and technique from the first lesson. Mrs. Gameiro believes in using technology to aid in the development of student's musical abilities in piano lessons. This studio uses various iPad games including the Joytunes PianoMaestro app (which is an innovative app for iPad in which students read music with accompaniment - please visit www.joytunes.com/apps for more! ) in order to help connect to each student in order to keep them fully engaged and playing at all times. It's been proven time and again to help keep student's attention engaged in this day and age.
Another way this piano studio stays "up with the times" is that now, lessons via FaceTime, Whatsapp or Skype are offered as well so Mrs. Gameiro is able to teach anyone not in the same town as well as well as offer lessons this way for those who are unable to drive. It really just depends on how quick your internet connection is. You will also need a tripod/phone or ipad mount to mount your device.
The goal of this piano studio is to share the love of music with any person who is willing to try and is willing to practice. All students are able to achieve their musical goals as long as they put in time and effort into their practice times.
This studio does not force all students to perform in recitals, as performing is not a goal for all students. However, all students do learn about building piano playing technique through scales and chords, and basic music theory work along with standard classical repertoire. Students are also encouraged to be prepared weekly to record videos for our studio's Facebook page. That helps to build community among each student's family and friends.
Mrs. Gameiro also teaches a variety of styles of music as long as there is sheet music readily available. For students who do decide on performing in the annual studio recitals, the recitals are held at Steinway Hall of Fort Worth, Texas once a year in the springtime and the Cook's Children's Hospital for Christmas time.
